The Cute Little Schnauzer - Kaffee!

I was chatting with brother on msn today and he told me both himself and his girlfriend have found a puppy for adoption, after looking for quite some times now. It's a miniature Schnauzer that was born on 10 September 2008. She's Kaffee....

Look at her! isn't she cute? (brother got her picture in advance from the breeder)

As she still need to be taken good care by the breeder and her mom before passing over to the new owner, so my brother and girlfriend are extremely excited and looking forward the day to welcome Kaffee in next month. Haha...it's just like how a mother-to-be or father-to-be waiting for a new born eh...:p

I'm just wondering if she will be like her daddy or mommy one day when she grow up? They are just as gorgeous aren't they!

Concept Nokia888 ... cool!

A friend showed me this cool concept model of Nokia888. Let's look at the video clip for the sophisticated features of this phone.

Wow, if the technology is available in reality, it will definitely come with a boom in the market. Always remember "Dream of Today will be Reality of Tomorrow"...

Design concept

“Form follows you”
A personal mobile communication device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day.

Technologies that are used

It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.

The functionality of design

You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronical pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better. Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.

Mamma Mia! Made Me Laugh and Sob...

I have heard about the goods and imperfections of the movie after the official launched of the movie in the States in July, yet I'm still so excited waiting for the day to come, ie yesterday. We went a bit earlier than the ticket collection time to fill our stomach at PastaMania, half way enjoying our pasta and pizza set, there were a huge group of Penangites (bloggers) queuing for tickets and entrance.

Ok, we were done with the yummy meal and happily go getting our tickets. Ermm...why the tickets look so different from those of KL-ites? Anyway, don't care much as it's the movie that does matter! lol. Thanks to Nuffnang for the tickets.

Well, I didn't managed to take any snaps on the spot due to unforeseen battery flat of my camera. So, if you want to check out more of the pictures, visit Wenzi's blog which I spotted in Innit - where Nuffnangites share their interesting posts.

Ok, now comes to the movie part!

Overall, Mamma Mia! The Movie is fun and happy, the music's terrific and the cast is appealing. Though I haven't watch the musical myself so pretty much cannot make any comparisons here.

I like the whole point of the movie, it's about the eagerness of a daughter who wants to know who's her real father, the love between two middle-aged man and woman who have wasted their 20 over years before realising loves were deeply buried in each of their hearts ever since they separated, and it's about how they get support of friends and extended family, and finding happiness.

To be frank, just the fact that Pierce is in a musical comedy movie is good enough to get my curiosity aroused. But, I just felt weird about an action Hollywood star doing such a different role, it's a great attempt even though the singing is just OK. He's still as attractive as usual though. *wink*

Meryl Streep is a delight, and a wonderfully spontaneous comedian that bring up lots of singing and dancing. At one point, I was sobbing (not me alone as I heard others' sobbing too...*smile*) over the hardship that Meryl Streep went through, ie. being a single mother raised up her daughter all alone. Amanda Seyfried as the daughter is so lovely and sweet, love her wedding dress and hair-do...

Anyway, I think most ABBA's and Mamma Mia's fan would not want to miss this!

P/S: It seems mostly guys doesn't enjoy this musical comedy movie as much as ladys do? My husband was a bit bored I can tell...lol

Mamma Mia! The Movie

Since the movie of Mamma Mia! is around the corner, I'm so excited and guess most of those who have watched the stage musical would want to know how'll it be transforming from the stage to the film. I was a bit regret that hubby and myself didn't have time to watch the musical during our visit to London last May 2008.

Well, all I managed was to snap down this photo while walking on Coventry Street. Still remember it was a weekend and the street are busy with traffic vehicles and people all around.

The summer show of Mamma Mia! in the States received a lot of applause and good reviews, it get so hot now and had inevitably brought out the nostalgia of those elderly at my parents' age, as the musical was based on the songs of successful pop group ABBA (active between 1972 and 1982).

I like that song when I first listened from a TV musical show during my childhood, can you imagine the rhythm of the ABBA's Mamma Mia! is humming in my ears while I write this post? Nah..it couldn't be my ear infection effect...lol...If you want to have a taste of it again, let's watch the clip below:

So how? Nice isn't it? So what's next then?...of course to check out the movie...to enjoy the nice story line, to witness the talented actor, Pierce Brosnan and more...if only Nuffnang is kind enough to give me the 2 free tickets to watch the Premiere of Mamma Mia! The Movie on 22nd September? *wink*

2008 Olympic Games Mascot - Fuwa

It's Olympic season now, after the spectacular opening ceremony and that the games are on their way, I've almost forgot to post about the souvenirs that hubby got from Dongguan trip few weeks ago.

Initially I thought it might be quite easy to get these Olympic games mascot souvenirs anywhere in China, as Beijing being the host of the game this year. Indeed, hubby didn't spot any of them in Dongguan and Shenzen. He finally found it in Hong Kong International Airport just before departed back to Penang Airport. The prices (in HKD) had been marked up a bit higher than the original RMB yuan, but I think worthwhile as they're the Beijing 2008 Official Licensed Products.

This is the 3cm PVC Fuwa Pendant Set that's nicely packed with the box looks like the Five Olympic Rings. Each Fuwa (Olympic mascot) also embody the natural characteristics of four of China's most popular animals. From the left is :

  • BeiBei 贝贝 (blue) - the Fish,
  • JingJing 晶晶 (black) - the Panda
  • HuanHuan 欢欢 (red) - the Olympic Flame
  • YingYing 迎迎 (orange) - the Tibetan Antelope
  • NiNi 妮妮 (green) - the Swallow

Not only that, when you combine the initial of each, it sounds "Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni" (北京欢迎你) in Chinese that say - "Beijing Welcome You" (Welcome to Beijing).

These are the sport glass collection of BeiBei sailing, JingJing weightlifting, HuanHuan doing Taekwondo, YingYing doing athletics, while NiNi playing beach volleyball.

Oh yeah, if you are interested to know more about the meanings and characteristic of the Fuwa respectively, you may visit the official website of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Spectacular 2008 Olympics Opening Ceremony

WOW!! I couldn't believe what I saw!

It was like 1pm and after sitting slack-jawed for hours watching the amazing Opening Ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, I was still surrounded by the chronicle even after switching off the TV.

Both directors of the art performance, Zhang Yimou and Zhang Jigang did a good job presented the spectacular events. It was a blend of the historic Chinese culture and the modern vibrancy of the hi-tech world. The idea of the giant firework foot prints was great, so did the scroll painting that portrayed the ancient chinese cultures, inventions, people and the performance on it. There were many highlights when the scroll painting slowly stretched out. I couldn't imagine how they have the LED images shown on the scroll painting which can be stretched till 147 meters long.

Below are a few fantastic snaps taken by the professional photographers throughout the ceremony (photo source: http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2008/08/2008_olympics_opening_ceremony.html)
